Toronto-based Signe Miranda's Veranda is a five-piece alternative roots-rock band whose new single, "It's Been So Long (Spread Out Our Wings)," is produced by Greg Godovitz (Goddo). The song blends 60's psychadellic folk/rock, with 90's pop/rock. engineered & mixed by Jeremy Trites at Rouge Valley Studios. They're currently planning follow up singles for their Heart Wave album, to be released one single at a time. The new single includes musicians, Brian Allossery, Shamakah Ali and Bill Dillon (Sarah McLachlan, Daniel Lanois, Peter Gabriel). The demos include Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo) & Oh Susanna.
The live band is led by singer-songwriter/guitarist (winner of the 2021 Musician of the Year from the Toronto Musician's Association) and author of the #1 International Best Selling book, "The Song Creation Formula: 7 Easy Steps to Writing Your Song") Signe Miranda, with drummer, Richard M. Kiernicki, lead guitarist Chris Birkett (Grammy/Juno winning producer, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Sinead O'Connor), bassist, Marcus Walker and keyboardist, Shari Tallon. Recent past band members include lead guitarist Fraser Melvin, bassist Robin Latimer, keyboardist Laura Fernandez, keyboardist Peter Nunn (Honeymoon Suite, Andy Kim) and drummer Shamakah Ali (Al Green, Shakura S'aida). Their previous album, September Night, blends together a sound that seamlessly brings you on a journey from post-break-up, alt-pop-punk title track, “September Night” to warm, spacious, alt-country gem, “Like It Was Yesterday”. "September Night" received "Honorable Mention" in the 2010 Song of The Year competition (The Songwriter Foundation) and "She's Breaking Up" was #48 on NBTMusic Radio's top 100 songs of 2012, a German internet-based station.
